A1 GRAND PRIX MOTOR RACING 2006 - 2007

WORLD CUP TROPHY WINNER 2006/2007 = GERMANY

The first year of the A1 Grand Prix schedule was reduced from 12 racing week-ends to only 11 following the cancellation of the Brazilian race due to take place at the Curitiba circuit.

The founder of the A1, Sheikh Maktoum, has announced his intention to resign as Chairman of this very successful venture with the anticipation of more shareholder participation.

Certain changes have been made to the races for the 2006/7 season, all intended to improve spectator enjoyment.

Two new national teams to the 206/2007 season are Singapore and Greece.

Other 2005 inaugural year participants will not be taking part in 2006 namely: Austria, Japan, Portugal, Russia.

France was the overall winner of the inaugural 2005 A1 Grand Prix season.
